Blog/Dental Billing Fundamentals

The best dental billing companies in 2026: an honest comparison.

Every "best dental billing companies" list is written by a company on it — this one included. So we've kept to the facts each company publishes about itself, put ourselves last, and left the judging to you.

Every detail below comes from that company's own website as of October 2026. Pricing changes, so confirm anything that matters before you sign.

Swipe sideways to see every column. Rates are per location, on monthly insurance collections. Flat fees apply under $40K ($30K for Capline and ZenHub).

The one line only ZenHub folds into the fee.

Insurance verification is where the headline rates stop being comparable:

  • eAssist — a separate verification plan, with its own $299 setup fee and a $175/mo minimum.
  • Dental Claim Support — $2.50 to $17 per patient, on top of the billing fee.
  • Wisdom — $99/mo plus $2.95 to $8.95 per patient.
  • Capline — $4.99 per new patient, plus $2 for rush requests.
  • Medusind — offers verification but doesn't publish prices, and sells services à la carte.
  • ZenHub — standard verifications and pre-authorizations are included in the monthly fee.

Even before you count verification, ZenHub's published rate is the lowest of the five that publish prices for any practice collecting up to $100,000 a month.

Before you sign with anyone.

  • Get one all-in number. Ask for the total monthly cost at your collections, with verification, clearinghouse and statements included.
  • Check what the fee applies to. Insurance payments only, or patient payments too?
  • Ask who works your account. A named person beats a queue. Ask where the team sits.
  • Read the exit. Notice period, data handover, and whether your software is left as you found it.

Our buyer's guide has the full list of questions, and full-service RCM vs per-claim billing explains how the pricing model shapes what you get. To see your own numbers, try the cost calculator or book a call.
